HOLLY SPRINGS, Miss. – The Rust College men's basketball program looked sharp after a month hiatus, taking down MUW with ease by a score of 83-65.
Malik Anderson handled most of the scoring duties for Coach Newton, dropping a game-high 26 points on 10-of-14 (71.4%) shooting with six three-pointers (60%) and four assists along the way.
Devante Lanier was the top rebounder on the day among all players, pulling down nine rebounds while producing 11 points for a near double-double.
Keshon Tabb was a Swiss army knife for the Bearcats, stuffing the stat sheet at 11 points, a game-best six steals and five assists plus five boards.
Terrell Jennings had a wildly productive outing off the bench, contributing 15 points and eight rebounds to the cause en route to a 7-for-12 (58.3%) outburst.
The Blue and White will attempt to move back above .500 on the season when it hosts Wilberforce at 7 p.m. Saturday evening.
