East Lake State University Falls to Stats1 in Three Sets
Cambridge, MA - On October 24th, 2014, East Lake State University (ELS) faced Stats1 in a volleyball match held at the Malkin Athletic Center in Cambridge, Massachusetts. A three-set victory for Stats1, who dominated ELS in both attacking and serving. Looking at the attacking statistics, Stats1 had an impressive .330 hitting percentage compared to ELS's mere .115. Stats1's Julia Friederich and Caroline Holte had solid performances with 11 kills each, while Corinne Bain and Caroline Walters added seven kills apiece. On the other side of the net, ELS's only player to reach double-digit kills was Emily Astarita with 10. However, she also had five errors, contributing to ELS's 16 attacking errors for the match.
In terms of serving, Stats1 had six aces to ELS's three, with Caroline Walters contributing four of those aces for Stats1. ELS struggled with their serving, ending up with six errors compared to Stats1's three.
Stats1 also had a stronger presence at the net with two solo blocks and eight block assists, compared to ELS's three total blocks. Stats1 setter Corinne Bain had an impressive 18 assists and nine digs, contributing to her team's success in both attacking and defending.
Overall, Stats1's dominant performance led to a straight-set victory with scores of 25-13, 25-20, and 25-18. ELS was led by Stacey Benton's 20 assists, but ultimately couldn't keep up with Stats1's strong play. Stats1 improved their record to 13-4 (6-2), while ELS fell to 13-6 (4-4).
