Rust College’s Patsy Johnson Named HBCUAC Women's Basketball Offensive Player of the Week

Johnson's standout performance came in Rust College's victory over Voorhees University on January 13, where she exploded for 26 points, 4 assists, and shot an efficient 5-7 from three and 8-11 from the field. She followed up with another strong showing against Oakwood on January 16, scoring 15 points, grabbing 7 rebounds, and going 3-5 from deep while shooting 6-10 from the field. Against Stillman on January 18, she contributed 12 points and 3 assists, capping off a consistent week of offensive production.

Currently, Johnson ranks top 4 in the conference in points per game (15.4) and sits in the top 5 in three-point percentage, proving to be a key offensive weapon for the Lady Bearcats this season.

Head Coach Jaleesa Sams praised Johnson's contributions, stating, "Patsy is an elite scorer who brings energy and efficiency to our offense. Her ability to shoot the ball at a high level and make plays for her teammates makes her a huge asset to our team. This recognition is well deserved."

Johnson and the Lady Bearcats will look to carry their momentum into their next matchup as they travel to take on conference opponent Talladega College on January 25.
