HOLLY SPRINGS, MS – The Rust College Bearcats Men's Basketball team concluded its season on a hard-fought note after a narrow 83-80 loss to 6-seed SUNO (Southern University of New Orleans) in the inaugural HBCUAC Athletic Conference Tournament. As the 11-seed team, the Bearcats battled throughout the game, staying close until early in the second half when SUNO built a 19-point lead. Despite a valiant comeback effort that brought the score to within one possession at 80-82, a missed free throw opportunity allowed SUNO to secure the rebound and run the clock out.
HOLLY SPRINGS, MS – The Rust College Bearcats Men's Basketball team has reached a historic milestone by defeating rival LeMoyne-Owen College twice in the same season for the first time ever. This achievement marks a turning point in the long-standing rivalry, where the Bearcats currently hold a 4-11 record against LeMoyne-Owen since the rivalry's inception in 2011.

HOLLY SPRINGS, MS – Rust College Men’s Basketball proudly announces its 2024-2025 season schedule as the team makes an exciting transition to the HBCU Athletic Conference (HBCUAC). This new affiliation marks a significant shift from their former conference, the Gulf Coast Athletic Conference (GCAC), and positions Rust College alongside other storied HBCU programs. The team is determined to reach new heights as they set their sights on their first winning season since 2013.
The #6 seed Rust College men's basketball program led the #3 seed Talladega Tornadoes as late as ten minutes left in regulation before their grasp began to slip as they eventually bowed out of the GCAC Tournament by a 67-60 margin.
