Rust College Men's Basketball Makes History with Two Wins Over Rival LeMoyne-Owen College; Win Part of Current Three-Game Winning Streak

In the most recent nail-biter, the Bearcats edged out LeMoyne-Owen 70-69 in a game decided by a buzzer-beater tip-in from #5 Johnathon Molierce off a missed layup. This win was part of their current three-game winning streak, which also includes victories over Arkansas Baptist, 64-59 on January 29, and Talladega College on February 5. Complementing the dramatic finish, #3 Justin Hicks contributed a notable stat line of 15 points, 2 assists, and 2 crucial free throws during a high-pressure 18-minute stretch that proved essential for the win.

"Defeating LeMoyne-Owen twice in one season is a breakthrough moment for our program and a testament to the hard work and resilience of our team," said Head Coach Howard White. "This win, as part of our current three-game winning streak, is a strong indicator of the progress we're making, and it sets a positive tone for the remainder of the season."

Looking ahead, the Bearcats will cap off the season with their final home game on Thursday, February 13, against Wilberforce University. The game, which also marks Senior Night, will be an opportunity to celebrate the contributions of the program's senior players and rally the community behind the team.
