Rust College Softball’s Leona Joshua Named HBCUAC Conference Softball Pitcher of the Week
During a competitive week against conference opponent Voorhees University and Division 2 opponent Lane College, Joshua showcased her pitching prowess by throwing a no-hitter against Voorhees and recording 10 strikeouts in the contest against Lane College. Her remarkable efforts amassed a total of 35 strikeouts for the week, underscoring her ability to consistently shut down opposing hitters.
"Leona's performance this week has been outstanding," said Head Coach Kendrick Vivians. "Her command on the mound and her determination to excel have been a huge asset for our team. This award is well-deserved, and we're excited to see her continue to develop as a leader in our pitching staff."
Looking ahead, the Bearcats will continue their season with upcoming series against Mississippi Delta Community College, another matchup with Voorhees University, and Crowley's Ridge. Fans are encouraged to follow the team's progress as they build on this impressive start.
