Rust College Hosts 2025 HBCUAC Summer Conference, Welcomes New Members to Growing Athletic Conference
The HBCUAC Summer Conference is an annual gathering of athletic directors, coaches, faculty athletic representatives, and administrative leaders from member institutions to discuss strategic initiatives, set goals for the coming academic year, and consider potential changes to conference rules and operations. This year's meeting emphasized alignment, unity, and growth—anchored in shared values and commitment to student-athlete success.
The event featured multiple professional development sessions, including game day operations workshops and a standout session hosted by Hope Credit Union, which focused on financial responsibility and future planning for athletic professionals and student-athletes alike.
"It was an honor to host this year's HBCUAC Summer Conference here at Rust College," said Jeremy Patterson, Director of Athletics. "Having our colleagues on campus to share ideas, build relationships, and shape the future of our conference was a tremendous opportunity. We're especially excited about the growth of the HBCUAC and the energy it brings into the new season."
This year's conference welcomed representatives from 15 member institutions, including the announcement of two new schools set to join the HBCUAC in the upcoming season: Huston-Tillotson University and Paul Quinn College. Their addition marks an exciting period of expansion for the conference, further elevating its competitive and academic footprint.
Rust College thanks all participants for making the 2025 Summer Conference a success and looks forward to the momentum it will generate in the months ahead
