Rust College Volleyball Opens 2025 Season Under New Leadership

Johnson brings more than a decade of volleyball experience as both a player and coach. A standout at Lane College, she competed at the NCAA Division II level before building a successful coaching career. She has guided programs at Douglass High School and the Memphis Volleyball Academy, where her teams captured numerous championships at regional and national tournaments.
 
"I'm honored to lead the Lady Bearcats and continue building a competitive and proud program," said Johnson. "Our players have worked extremely hard, and I know they're eager to make Rust College proud this season."
The Lady Bearcats will open their home schedule on Tuesday, September 10 at 5 p.m., when they host rival LeMoyne-Owen College inside Kinzell Lawson Gymnasium. Fans are encouraged to pack the gym and create a true home-court advantage for the first of several exciting matchups.

  • Sept. 10 – vs. LeMoyne-Owen College – 5 p.m.
  • Sept. 18 – vs. Oakwood University – 6 p.m.
  • Sept. 30 – vs. Philander Smith University – 5 p.m.
  • Oct. 3 – vs. Stillman College – 6 p.m.
  • Oct. 4 – vs. Talladega College – 6 p.m.
  • Oct. 11 – vs. Wilberforce University – 2 p.m.
  • Oct. 13 – vs. Miles College – 6 p.m.
  • Oct. 16 – vs. Jackson State Community College – 6 p.m.
  • Oct. 31 – vs. Fisk University – 3 p.m.
  • Oct. 31 – vs. Tougaloo College – 7 p.m.
With a blend of veteran leadership and fresh energy under Coach Johnson, Rust College Volleyball looks to make its mark in the HBCU Athletic Conference.
