Rust College Men’s Basketball Announces 2025-26 Season Schedule

The Bearcats tip off on October 27 with their season and home opener against Arkansas Baptist College at 7 p.m. in Kinzell Lawson Gymnasium. The opener will serve as a Pink Out Game, with the first 100 fans receiving a free pink T-shirt in recognition of Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

Rust looks to rebound after finishing fifth in the East Division standings last season and exiting in the first round of the HBCU Athletic Conference (HBCUAC) Tournament. With a strong core of returning players and a talented group of new recruits, the Bearcats are eager to climb the standings and make noise in postseason play.

"This season is about growth and setting the foundation for the future of Rust College Men's Basketball," said Wellington. "We have a great mix of experienced returners and hungry newcomers who are ready to compete. Our fans can expect an exciting brand of basketball every night."

The schedule features a series of themed home games to engage Bearcat Nation, including Homecoming Night against LeMoyne-Owen College on November 8 as part of the Dr. Ishmell Edwards Classic, and Greek Night, Senior Day, and more.

  • Jan. 27 – vs. Harris-Stowe | 7 p.m. | Black Out

  • Jan. 29 – vs. Oakwood University | 7 p.m. | Faculty & Staff Appreciation Night

  • Jan. 31 – vs. Fisk University | 1 p.m. | White Out

  • Feb. 2 – vs. Paul Quinn College | 7:30 p.m. | Jersey Night

  • Feb. 10 – vs. Philander Smith College | 7 p.m. | Greek Night

  • Feb. 14 – vs. Stillman College | 1 p.m. | Senior Day
