HOLLY SPRINGS, Miss. - Rust (Miss.) College pushed their first-half lead to as much as 18 in the first half, but the Pioneers of Crowley's Ridge College settled down in the second half to keep it close. The Pioneers ultimately fell to the Bearcats (7-6) by a final score of100-80.
J.D. Smith scored a career-high 29 points for the Pioneers (0-10) and fellow freshman Braxton Cousins added 18 points despite first-half foul trouble.

The Pioneers will live out the "student" half of their jobs as student-athletes by spending the next week in preparation for finals week at Crowley's Ridge. Crowley's Ridge returns to action on Saturday, December 11, when they host the Pensacola Christian (Fla.) Eagles with a tipoff of 3:00 p.m.
