Bearcats Split Doubleheader In Home Opener Versus Magicians

HOLLY SPRINGS, Miss. – The Rust College baseball program capitalized on three errors by LeMoyne-Owen and turned them into six unearned runs to win game two by a count of 8-3 in seven.

Quincy McGraw Jr. brought a bend but not break attitude to the mound, going the distance with five strikeouts and two earned runs allowed despite constantly tight roping out of danger caused by nine hits and three walks.

Jalin Thomas put on a hitting clinic against the men from Memphis, totaling seven bases alone courtesy of a two-RBI long ball, a double and a single in four at-bats.

Jesse Burton III's stat line was not too shabby himself, going 2-for-3 with two runs scored, a double and a stolen base.

Jalik Demar notched an RBI double and a walk, William Teague drove in a run and scored on top of a 2-for-3 day while Victor Clay picked up an RBI and scored as well.

Rust College will get to enjoy Spring Break as the Blue and White are off until Friday March 11 when the Arkansas Baptist Buffaloes stampede into Bearcat Field for a four-game set.
