Bearcats Sweep Bulldogs With Offensive Outburst

JACKSON, Miss. – The Rust College baseball program won its fifth consecutive ballgame and moved back above .500 with a 16-hit, 13-run shellacking of Tougaloo College in a critical road sweep, 13-5 in seven.

Quincy McGraw Jr. and Khalil Robinson refused to be putout as the pair combined for go 7-for-8 (.875) with five runs scored, three RBIs, a double and a walk.

D'Anfrenee Bonner had just one base knock, a two-RBI double, but also brought a run home via sacrifice fly to go along with a free pass.

Jalin Thomas, Aaron Strickland, and Jalik Demar all drove in two runners apiece over four hits on top of two bases on balls.

While Allen Williams got the victory, William Teague shut down the Bulldog batters with 4.2 innings of two-run ball (one earned) as he gave up four hits and a walk despite not striking out anyone.

Coach Bates' boys make the short trek north to Memphis on Tuesday afternoon for a matinee doubleheader at LeMoyne-Owen.
