McGraw Hits & Pitches Bearcats To Split Vs. Southeastern Baptist

HOLLY SPRINGS, Miss. – The Rust College baseball program could not overcome an 11-0 deficit in game one while five runs over the first three frames of game two were enough to secure a doubleheader split with the Chargers of Southeastern Baptist.

Quincy McGraw Jr. produced both at the plate and on the mound, going 2-for-3 at the dish with a pair of runs and a double in the first contest while moving to 4-0 as a pitcher with four innings of two-run (zero earned), two-hit baseball in the second matchup.

Calel Stephens was the perfect stopper late in game one, shutting out SBC over four the final four frames while allowing the same number of hits as strikeouts (2).

Mark Hubbard was the best hitter overall for the Blue and White, going 4-for-6 (.667) with a team-best five RBIs, two runs scored, a double plus a triple.

Jesse Burton III also did well at the plate as shown by his three hits over five at-bats (.600) plus one RBI, steal, run scored, and walk each.

Jalik Demar and Victor Clay both picked up doubles as well with the former smacking three hits to go along with scoring twice and the latter plating two runs on a pair of base knocks.

Blue Mountain College is the next destination for Coach Bates and company to take on the Toppers for a Tuesday doubleheader.
