Game 2
BLUE MOUNTAIN, Miss. – The Rust College baseball program had a difficult time containing the Toppers of Blue Mountain College on Monday, getting swept by scores of 16-6 and 5-4.
Mark Hubbard Jr. and Quincy McGraw Jr. were the only two Rust student-athletes with a multi-hit performance, combining to go 4-for-7 (.571) with three RBIs, two runs scored, two steals (both Hubbard), a double (McGraw), and a walk (Hubbard) between them in game one. Both players were shutout in the hit department during game two, but each still stole a base and scored.
Jalik Demar and DeAndre Green both contributed sacrifice flies for their runs batted in while Victor Clay smacked an RBI single and Jalin Thomas drew his during a walk.
A rematch with Southeastern Baptist awaits on the horizon as the Bearcats head to Laurel, Mississippi for a doubleheader with the Chargers Saturday afternoon.
