Pitching Woes Plaque Baseball Bearcats At Stillman

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – The Rust College baseball program could not contain the hot-hitting bats of the homestanding Tigers, falling for the fifth consecutive game, 10-4 and 10-6 in seven innings.

 

Jalin Thomas parked a baseball over the wall for the second time over his past three contests, accounting for the club's only two dingers of the season so far and only extra-base hit of the day. The junior from Columbus, Georgia went 2-for-4 with a pair of RBIs, three walks and a sacrifice fly.

 

Jesse Burton III contributed three of the squad's five runs batted in game two on a two-RBI single through the right side and an RBI groundout.

 

Malik Berrien had a 3-of-8 (.375) Tuesday, registering a steal, run scored and a ribbie.

 

Other Cats with an RBI on the day were Craig Randolph and Stone Teague with the latter stealing a bag, while Demarrium Warren was the only one to have multiple swipes of second (2).

 

The Bearcats host a trio of HBCUs including Wilberforce, Voorhees, and Harris-Stowe State this weekend in the Bo Sellers Tournament, starting with the Bulldogs at 2:30 p.m. on Friday.
