Roller Coaster Final Frame Sees Bulldogs Snatch Lead Before Franks Wins It With RBI-Single

HOLLY SPRINGS, Miss. – The Rust College baseball program saw its three-run, ninth inning lead evaporate into a one-run hole but made up for it in a big way as the Cats stormed right back to walk-off the Bulldogs for the second straight night for a clean weekend sweep, 9-8.

Stone Teague was phenomenal as both his hits went for extra bases in the form of a two-run double, an RBI-triple, as well as a sacrifice fly.

Craig Randolph snatched a two-bagger, scored twice, and walked two times on top of a trio of steals.

Ja'Shaun Franks was the deliverer of the knockout blow, driving home Teague who had tripled three batters earlier, blooping a ball into no-man's land between the second baseman and right fielder.

Jalik Demar registered not one, not two, but three stolen bases to go along with a pair of singles plus a score.

Jackson Bryant got an unfortunate non-decision, tossing 8.1 strong frames while giving up just four earned runs and one walk, leaving with a one-run cushion and one out into the ninth.

A Tuesday doubleheader matinee in Memphis is next when Bates' Bearcats face LeMoyne-Owen at noon and 3 p.m., hoping to replicate last Tuesday's 23-2 blowout.
