Wildcats Hang On To Win Series, 8-6

HOLLY SPRINGS, Miss. – The Rust College baseball program fell out of the GCAC's top spot for the first time this season, relinquishing sole possession to Wiley after falling in seven.

One of the toughest things to do in baseball is come off the bench cold and produce, but that's exactly what Devin Tallington did, lacing a two-RBI single in his lone at-bat of the day.

Stone Teague took Wildcat pitching deep for the second game in-a-row, depositing a ball over the chain link fence in dead-center for a solo shot in the fourth.

Xavier Campbell kept the Bearcats in the game, pitching the final four frames while surrendering four hits, two runs, and zero walks with a pair of punchouts.

Jalik Demar reached safely in all three of his plate appearances, walking twice with a double.

Jalin Thomas collected the other double for the home nine, driving home Victor Clay while also earning a free pass earlier in the ballgame

The men will remain in Holly Springs in the midst of its three week long homestand, taking on Stillman at noon and 3 p.m. on Tuesday afternoon.
