Bearcats Win, Upsets Elsewhere Puts Baseball In Driver’s Seat Heading Into Finale

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. – The Rust College baseball program needs just two more wins on Sunday to clinch the conference's first ever regular season championship, doing its part with an 8-1 victory at Oakwood while both Wiley and Dillard lost to give Coach Bates' club the inside track to the top spot.

Khalil Robinson refused to be put out, reaching in all four plate appearances with a solo jack and a two-RBI double while wearing two bean balls plus a pair of runs scored.

Jackson Bryant (4.0 IP) and Devin Tallington (3.0 IP) combined to shut down the Ambassadors offense as each hurler struck out four batters and allowed one walk with Tallington yielding just a single hit.

Stone Teague waited for the right pitch and remained patient throughout, crushing a triple before scoring on top of drawing two walks.

Malik Berrien drew a pair of free passes and scored both times, Victor Clay stole second twice, and Jalin Thomas clubbed an RBI-double.

The Blue and White are a Sunday doubleheader sweep of Oakwood away from making history with game one starting at noon inside John Hunt Park.
