HOLLY SPRINGS, Miss. – The Rust College baseball program averaged 10.5 runs per ballgame, unfortunately the pitching staff allowed 19.0 as the Toppers outscored the Bearcats by an aggregate of 38-21 over 15 innings during the doubleheader.

  • Malik Berrien led the team with a .571 batting average as he went 4-for-7 with four scores, a pair of both walks and stolen bases, a double plus an RBI.

 

  • Shemaar Stapleton was one of two Bearcats to go yard on Tuesday, scoring the most runs among his teammates at five while driving in three RBIs and a double during a 4-of-8 (.500) effort.

 

  • Xavier Campbell and Tyler Gilbert put in work at the plate, combining to hit .462 (6-for-13) with five ribbies, three runs, and two free passes as Campbell tallied a double as one of his three base knocks.

 

  • Kyrent Cole seemingly struggled in the batter's box by going 2-of-8 (.200), but if you dig deeper, one will notice that he still produced as the infielder led the charge regarding runs batted in, plating four of his teammates.
