HOLLY SPRINGS, Miss. – The Rust College baseball program led the NCAA Division II's Christian Brothers Buccaneers at 2-1 entering the third frame but the visitors from Memphis went on to put up nine unanswered through the middle of the seventh to put the ballgame away by a final of 15-5.

  • Devin Tallington had a great showing at the dish, being the only Bearcat with multiple hits (2-of-3, .667), the club's only extra-base hit (double), an RBI, a walk, and a run scored.

 

  • Augustus Latting knocked home a pair on his only hit, a single into the gap between right and center during a three-run seventh, in which he then scored on Kyrent Cole's sacrifice fly two batters later.

 

  • Devin Thigpen was the one student-athlete out of the four that tried to steal a base, doing so after his single over two at-bats.

 

  • Craig Randolph gave up one run in his inning of relief, but it came as a result of a RC error so it was unearned.
