Bearcats Get A Scare From Phantoms, Tabb Carries Rust Off Bench

HOLLY SPRINGS, Miss. – The Rust College men's basketball program overcame a poor shooting performance from the free throw line primarily relying on Keshon Tabb
who scored 25 points off the pine to lead the Bearcats to a 77-72 triumph.

The Blue and White won this game courtesy of its depth as 60 of the team's 77 points (77.9%) came from its reserves, led by Tabb, Devante Lanier (15) and Ronald Strothers (11).

Tabb, the reigning GCAC Player of the Week, was in a zone on the evening, connecting on 9-of-14 shots (64.3%) and half of his three-point tries (3-for-6) while also producing a game-best four steals on top of four boards and two assists. The Richmond, Virginia native was extremely efficient, averaging 1.14 points per minute played as he did all his damage during only 22 minutes of playing time.

Marquis Pepper had the definition of a selfless contest, handing out seven assists while having a zero in the points column.

Lanier fronted the Bearcats with seven rebounds to form a solid duo with Tabb.

Rust College concludes the weekend tomorrow afternoon by hosting the defending Small College HBCU Co-Champion Stillman Tigers at 4 p.m. in Holly Springs.
