PANAMA CITY, Fla. – The Rust College men's basketball program ran out of gas against (RV) Faulkner, its third straight game against a team at least receiving votes in the latest poll, in a 75-63 setback.
The Bearcat bench stepped up in a big way despite the loss, dropping 20 more points from its reserves than the Eagles (29-9).
Malik Anderson topped the Blue and White with 15 points while swishing half of his field goal attempts (6-for-12) while cobbling together four boards, a pair of steals plus an assist and a block.
Ronald Strothers also crossed the double-figure threshold at 13 points with four rebounds as well.
Coach Newton's men will return from the beach and get right back to work after the Thanksgiving food digests with weekend homestand opposite Lyon (Saturday, 5 p.m.) and Talladega (noon, Sunday).
