BATESVILLE, Ark. – The Rust College men's basketball program ran into one of the hottest teams in the country Sunday afternoon, falling to undefeated and seventh-ranked Talladega College, 90-58.
The Blue and White were nearly perfect from the free throw line, going 17-for-18 (94.4%) with Jordan Watkins (7-of-7) and Malik Anderson (6-of-6) combining to hit 13 freebies without fail.
Watkins was the only Bearcat to hit double-figures scoring-wise, posting 11 points and two rebounds.
Anderson saw all six of his points come from the charity stripe while Devante Lanier finished second on the team at nine points.
Keshon Tabb and Christopher Agbo shared the rebounding-high with five boards and each notched an assist apiece while Tabb swiped three of the Bearcats' four steals.
Head Coach Edward Newton's guys will face the Men of Troy . . . University on Wednesday in an exhibition bout before returning to Holly Springs for a rematch with the Crowley's Ridge Pioneers the following night at 7 p.m.
