Lanier Impresses With Massive Double-Double In Defeat

MEMPHIS, Tenn. – The Rust College men's basketball program received 35 points from Jordan Watkins and Devante Lanier but just 22 from the rest of the roster as LeMoyne-Owen seemingly could not miss in an 81-57 setback.

Devante Lanier was a human highlight reel, pulling in exactly half of Rust's rebounds (17) plus an additional 17 points as well as an assist on 6-of-12 (50%) shooting.

Jordan Watkins barely edged out Lanier for the team scoring leader on the day, registering 18 points while going 8-for-14 (57.1%) with seven boards plus team-highs in both assists (2) and blocks (2).

Christopher Agbo and Ronald Strothers both logged eight points each, combining for seven rebounds, an assist, and a block between the two.

The Blue and White will get another crack at knocking off the defending HBCU Champs in their own house, traveling to Stillman College to face the #15 Tigers at 7 p.m. Tuesday.
