Bearcats Dispatch Bulldogs In GCAC Opener

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The Rust College men's basketball program received double-doubles from both Terrell Jennings and Malik Anderson to fend off a scrappy Fisk program on the road to open conference play with a win, 63-53.

Jennings had as efficient as a performance as possible without being perfect, going 6-for-7 (85.7%) with a team-high 11 boards and three assists plus 13 points and a block.

Anderson produced similar results in his outing, registering 11 points and ten rebounds plus an assist in just 26 minutes.

Ronald Strothers earned the title of the team's top scorer Thursday night, pouring in 17 points and three long balls.

Coach Newton's guys return to the hardwood Thursday evening as they head to Kroger Gymnasium to try and tame the Bulldogs of Tougaloo College at 7:30 p.m.
