Bearcats Prepare For GCAC Tournament With Win Over Dillard

HOLLY SPRINGS, Miss. – The Rust College men's basketball program secured the third seed in the GCAC Tournament next weekend with a 74-71 skin of its teeth victory against the Bleu Devils.

 

Ronald Strothers has started to regain his mojo that helped him capture Conference Newcomer of the Year in 2020-21, dropping a game-best 21 points on eight buckets and five three-pointers to go along with three boards and an assist.

 

Wesley Anderson had a game to remember, dishing out an astonishing 12 dimes and contributing seven points and three rebounds on the side.

 

Keshon Tabb and Terrell Jennings co-led Coach Stephen's team with nine rebounds each with the former providing 15 points, four steals and four assists to the stat line while the latter had seven points plus a pair of steals.

 

Jordan Watkins wrapped up the primary contributors for the Blue and White, logging ten points on 4-of-9 (44.4%) from the floor.

 

RC will head to Little Rock, Arkansas for the Conference Tournament and will pair up with Edward Waters University in the Quarterfinals on Friday, February 25.
