
Put It On My Tabb: Strothers, Watkins & Tabb Earn All-GCAC Honors
NEW ORLEANS, La. – The Rust College men's basketball program was well-represented at the GCAC Awards presentation on Friday evening as Keshon Tabb took home GCAC Player and Defensive Player of the Year accolades on top of All-GCAC First Team while Ronald Strothers and Jordan Watkins landed on the Second Team.
Tabb, was the GCAC Player of the Week on November 10, 2021, finished seventh in the nation for steals per game (2.7) and was top-25 among his NAIA peers regarding assists on average (4.8).
On the season, the Richmond, Virginia native shot 39.6% from the floor while averaging 9.3 points, 4.8 assists, 3.8 rebounds and 2.6 steals with an assist-to-turnover ratio of 1.6.
Watkins, the GCAC Player of the Week on December 8, shot 43.5% while averaging 10.2 points and 4.1 rebounds with 15 steals, 12 assists and four blocks as well.
Strothers, the November 17th GCAC Player of the Week and last season's GCAC Newcomer of the Year, led the Bearcats in scoring at 11.9 points per game while averaging 3.2 boards and 2.1 three-pointers a night on top of 12 assists, eight blocks and four steals during the campaign.
