Craven’s Double-Double, Halftime Lead Not Enough In Third Straight Close Call

HOLLY SPRINGS, Miss. – The Rust College men's basketball program has had three consecutive close but no cigar contests in 2022-23, losing all its games by four points or less after falling to (RV) Stillman, 77-76.

Davonte Craven continues to shine brightly, dropping a double-double of 20 points (game-high) and ten rebounds (team-best) on top of five steals (game-best) plus three assists (team-high).

Keshon Tabb and K'Lon Williams both put up 15 points a pop on a combined 13-of-19 (68.4%) shooting.

Jeremiah Maldonado pitched in 14 points in a 5-for-9 (55.6%) effort and grabbed six boards, Jonathon Bentley handed out three "helpers", and J'Quan Ivory rejected the Bearcats' solo block.

Rust will hope to finish the job this time around when it faces the Hornets from Morris on Saturday night at 7:30 p.m. as it wraps up the Dr. Ishmell Edwards Founder's Day Classic.
