Bearcats Finally Breakthrough For First Win Of Poindexter Era

HOLLY SPRINGS, Miss. – The Rust College men's basketball program had been snake bitten with a trio of close losses in its first three contests but was able to buck the trend and secure a double-digit victory in an 87-75 triumph over Morris College.

Catthadious Moore was a beast on the boards and especially on Morris misses, corralling a game-high 13 rebounds including ten defensively to average nearly a rebound every two minutes played (28 minutes on court).

Jonathon Bentley did a little bit of everything off the bench versus the Hornets, scoring eight points, registering three assists, rejecting two blocks, brought down two boards and snagged a steal.

Keshon Tabb had more steals by himself than the entire opponent as he swiped five to Morris' four, recorded a game-best five assists, dropped 13 points, and hauled in eight rebounds.

Davonte Craven is bound to break the scoreboard one of these nights, exploding for 27 points and five rebounds on 9-of-13 (69.2%) shooting.

Rust returns to Kinzell Lawson Gymnasium Monday night as they host the LSU-Alexandria Generals for a 7:30 p.m. standalone tip.
