Wildcats Slip Past Bearcats In High-Scoring Second Half

NEW ORLEANS, La. – The Rust College men's basketball program saw its modest two-game winning streak halted on Friday afternoon, falling to the Wiley Wildcats 92-80 in a second half that produced 105 combined points.

Jayden Stephens topped the Bearcats by putting 19 points on the board as he converted half of his shot attempts (7-for-14) in a span of just 25 minutes on the floor.

Catthadious Moore won the rebounding crown for Rust with eight while Davonte Craven was not far behind at seven.

Craven went for 14 points, three assists, two blocks, and a steal plus shot 54.5% (6-of-11) for an all-around performance.

Damonte Streate posted a dozen points but did his best work as a floor general with game-highs for both assists (7) and steals (4).

Xavier Evans was the final RC player to hit double-figures in scoring with 11 points over 14 minutes off the bench.

The Blue and White will play a rare night game in pod play Saturday evening at 7 p.m. against the host Knights of SUNO.
