Bearcats Hold Off Bulldogs In Back-And-Forth Battle

NEW ORLEANS, La. – The Rust College men's basketball program is above .500 in GCAC play for the first time in 2022-23, withstanding ten ties and eight lead changes to come out in front, 72-70.

Damonte Streate looked the part of Conference Player of the Week favorite over the weekend, capping it off with a game-best 26 points on 9-of-12 (75%) shooting and going a perfect 3-for-3 from behind the arc. He also logged three steals, two assists, and a rebound.

Catthadious Moore was fantastic, piling up a double-double of 13 boards (game-high) and 12 points to go along with a trio of both dimes and steals.

Davonte Craven dropped another 20-burger on a GCAC opponent, cashing in on half of his 14 shots, a contest-high four assists, a Bearcat-best two blocks, six rebounds plus a pair of steals.

Ronald Berkley III had more steals (4) than he's had games played so far this season (3) while Keron Williams recorded three points in just four minutes on the floor.

The Buffaloes are next on the schedule for the men's squad as they travel to Little Rock for a date with Arkansas Baptist on Monday, January 30.
