LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – The Rust College men's basketball program outshot the homestanding Panthers by eight percent (44.4% to 36.1%) from the field and just under 20 percent (41.2% to 21.4%) from deep, but it was not enough to overcome Philander Smith during an 82-73 loss.

Rust Top Performers: 

 

  • Khalil Brown was one of four Cats to notch double-figures for points, pouring on a team-high 17 points on 7-for-13 (53.8%) shooting.

 

  • Christopher Hood tacked on 11 points along with five boards, a contest-best four steals and a Rust-most three assists.

 

  • Catthadious Moore was accurate and efficient, converting all four of his field goals as well as both of his free throws to give him ten perfect points in addition to seven rebounds.

 

  • Xavier Evans crossed the double-digit threshold for rebounds instead of points with a squad-high ten, Bryson Wooten was the fourth Bearcat referenced at ten points, and Davion Miller sent the club's lone blocked shot packing.
