Bio

Kendrick Vivians was hired on the lead the Bearcat Softball Program in May of 2022.


Prior to joining the Rust College Family, Coach Vivians spent the last 3 years helping the Moss Point High School Tiger football team to 3 straight district championships. On the diamond, he took over as the Head Middle School Softball Coach.

From 2016 to 2019, Coach V led the Noxubee County High School Softball Teams to their best records in school history. Under Vivians’ guidance at NCHS, former Bearcat Keaturah Wright and teammate Shakiya Slaughter earned softball scholarships to play at Rust College. They were the first Lady Tigers to earn softball scholarships from their school.


On the field, Coach Vivians was a 2 year starter for the Rust College Bearcats’ Baseball team under Head Coach Avery Mason. He saw most of his action in the OF, but also played second base and caught for the Bearcats. Vivians played for the at Rust for two seasons before transferring to Mississippi State University to focus solely on studies.

 

In his playing days at Moss Point High, he was a three year starter at DH and OF. He played for one state title and won a district title. He was also the starting linebacker on the 1997 Championship football team.

 

A 1998 Moss Point High School graduate, Vivians earned his bachelor’s degree from Mississippi State University in 2003 and is currently pursing his Master’s degree in secondary education.

 

Vivians has one daughter, DeAnna Sanders, a graduate of Alcorn State University. His older brother Carlton also played baseball at Rust College.
