Lady Bearcats Stay Hot, Roll Past Arkansas Baptist

HOLLY SPRINGS, Miss. – The Rust College women's basketball program has stayed full speed ahead with no signs of slowing down, wrangling the Buffaloes for a 43-point romp.

Head Coach Eric Jackson used a collective approach to wear down Arkansas Baptist as no player eclipsed 25 minutes and 12 of his 14 active student-athletes scored. RC was also a perfect 13-for-13 from the charity stripe.

Jasmine Coleman led the scoring attack in this one, going for a game-high 13 points plus seven rebounds, a steal and an assist.

Katie Blackmon continued to her streak of balanced, efficient ballgames, finishing just off Coleman's pace with 12 points, edging her in rebounds (8) and rejecting a Buffalo shot while shooting 71.4% from the field (5-of-7).

Faith Cattouse had a nearly identical scoring output as Blackmon, also going 5-for-7 but posting 11 points with four twos and a triple.

Shay Johnson continues to hand out assists like they are candy on Halloween, dishing out a game-best seven assists (matching Arkansas Baptist's team total) with nine points, three boards and a steal baked into her stat totals.

The Lady Bearcats will look to keep the momentum chugging right along with its next obstacle being the Stillman Lady Tigers on Saturday evening.
