Lady Bearcats Crack Top-25, Proceed To Easily Dispatch Crowley’s Ridge

PARAGOULD, Ark. – The Rust College women's basketball program is going overlooked no longer, receiving 126 points in the first NAIA Top-25 Coaches Poll to land at #25 in the rankings. Fears of a letdown immediately dissipated when the #25 Lady Bearcats throttled Crowley's Ridge on the road, 92-55.

It was an all-around balanced effort for Coach Jackson and company as no player surpassed 12 points while collectively willing ten three-pointers to drop.

Jasmine Coleman was the leading scorer for the Blue and White with 12 points, Patsy Johnson and Zoe Alexander went for 11 while Shay Johnson contributed ten with the quartet draining eight of the team's ten triples.

Shay Johnson came close to an uncommon points-assists double-double, leading all game participants at nine and accounting for half of the Lady Bearcats' helpers (18).

Katie Blackmon is quickly reestablishing her role as one of the nation's top rebounders, collecting a game-best 14 boards along with eight points and three blocks.

Jade Hill joined Blackmon in the double-figure rebound department, corralling ten balls while also collecting eight points as well.

Next for the Lady Bearcats is the Lyon Classic in Batesville, Arkansas where it will take on Central Methodist at 4 p.m. on Friday before a highly anticipated top-25 rematch with the now 18th-ranked Scots on their home floor, Saturday at 3 p.m.
