Lyon Gets Revenge On Lady Bearcats In Low-Scoring Rock Fight

BATESVILLE, Ark. – The Rust College women's basketball program has dropped back-to-back games for the first time since losing twice to Talladega in a five-day span in February of 2020, falling to the Lyon Scots by a count of 54-50.

The Blue and White led by as much as 14 points but let the lead slip through its fingers despite winning the turnover margin (15-12), points off turnovers (17-4), fastbreak points (10-0) and bench points (29-11).

Patsy Johnson led all scorers off the bench, posting a game-best 13 points on 6-of-11 (54.5%) plus three rebounds, two assists and two steals.

Katie Blackmon extended her double-digit boards streak to three straight with ten and now has ten-plus rebounds in seven of the team's 12 contests.

Niya McGuire had another efficient effort, putting up nine points while making half of her shots from the court (4-for-8) and six boards.

Rust College will look to put the brakes on the losing streak by returning to the friendly confines of the McMillan Center to host Crowley's Ridge at 5:30 p.m.
