Lady Bearcats Meet Worthy Foe As #11 Central Methodist Hands Rust First Loss

BATESVILLE, Ark. – The Rust College women's basketball program's win streak is halted at double-digits as the 11th-ranked Eagles of Central Methodist knocked RC from the ranks of the unbeaten, 65-59.

The ladies from Holly Springs outrebounded CMU (51-47) and dominated in point off the bench (25-5) but the Eagles won most other statistical categories.

Niya McGuire was about as perfect and efficient as could be, hitting 85.7% (6-for-7) of her field goals and averaging a point per minute with 16 points over 16 minutes.

Zoe Alexander was the only other Lady Bearcat to score ten-plus with 11, corralling seven boards, two assists and swiped two steals.

In true Thanksgiving fashion, Katie Blackmon feasted in the post, hauling in a team-high 12 rebounds and tacking on six points, two blocks, an assist plus a steal.

Coach Jackson's squad has a quick turnaround upcoming as the Blue and White ready for a top-25 rematch with Lyon College inside its home arena, Becknell Gym, at 3 p.m.
