Neither Team Surpasses 40 In Sloppy Turnover-Filled Win

MEMPHIS, Tenn. – The Rust College women's basketball program turned the ball over 20 times but forced 25 to scrape by LeMoyne-Owen in a scoring struggle, 37-35.

The Lady Bearcats manhandled the Magicians defensively as LOC made just 13-of-53 (24.5%) shots and was 2-for-11 (18.2%) from three.

Jasmine Coleman was the only player on either side to score more than ten points and shoot better than 50% from the field, posting game-bests of 13 points on 5-of-8 (62.5%) shooting plus three triples, five boards and a steal. She had the same amount of three-pointers than all other players combined, going 3-for-4 (75%) to everybody else's 3-for-25 (12%).

Katie Blackmon had a 50% shooting effort as well (3-of-6) with a game-high nine rebounds plus six points, a steal, and a block.

Shay Johnson had a multi-faceted afternoon, putting together a stat line of seven boards, a game-best five assists, five points and two steals.

Coach Jackson's ladies will head to Tuscaloosa, Alabama on Tuesday afternoon to wrap up its home-and-home with Stillman at 4:30 p.m., looking to replicate the success it had in a 79-54 home win on November 13.
