Coleman, Johnson & Blackmon Sneak Lady Bearcats Past Wilberforce

HOLLY SPRINGS, Miss. – The Rust College women's basketball program received 24 points from Jasmine Coleman, 12 assists via Shay Johnson, and a 17-rebound, 16-point double-double out of Katie Blackmon to improve its record to 15-2 on the season.

Blackmon did not miss a single shot attempt or free throw, hitting on a perfect 5-for-5 from the floor and all six from the charity stripe. She was an unstoppable force for Coach Jackson, shredding the Bulldogs for 17 points, 16 boards, two blocks, and an assist while committing just one turnover.

Coleman set a new career scoring high, dropping 24 points on WU on 8-of-13 (61.5%) shooting, four triples and a 4-for-4 day from the free throw line.

Shay Johnson was dishing out dimes like her life depended on it, tossing a dozen assists to her teammates and scoring five of her own.

The Blue and White will begin its GCAC regular season title defense against the conference's newest member, Fisk University, at 5:30 p.m. on January 20 in Nashville, Tennessee.
