Lady Bearcats Immobilize Philander Smith Offense In Rout

HOLLY SPRINGS, Miss. – The Rust College women's basketball program held the Lady Panthers to 13 points or less in each quarter and a 21.2% field-goal percentage overall in a 56-40 stress-free win.

Jade Lewis led the way with 12 points and a 50% shooting percentage for the Blue and White while capitalizing on a team-best four steals and two blocks as well.

Zoe Alexander was the only other Lady Bearcat to cross the ten-point mark, reaching that number exactly mainly by free throws (4-for-4) on top of five boards.

Shay and Patsy Johnson shared the game-high with three dimes as the former contributed five rebounds with the latter logging two.

Katie Blackmon had her usual amount of rebounding opportunities with ten boards on the afternoon, six coming on the offensive end.

Coach Jackson and the crew will head into its matchup on February 3 looking for win #19 and nine in-a-row when it invades Dent Hall in New Orleans at 5:30 p.m.
