Lady Bearcats Falter At Philander Smith

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – The Rust College women's basketball program could not clinch an outright GCAC Regular Season title, snapping its 12-game winning streak to Philander Smith (59-54) and needing a win over Dillard Monday night to earn a coin flip tiebreaker to determine the GCAC's #1 seed in the conference tournament.

Shay Johnson fell just shy of the game-high for scoring, nabbing 17 points on top of two steals and two assists.

Jade Lewis also surpassed double-digits with 12 points, leading Coach Jackson' group with eight boards and a 44.4% (4-for-9) field-goal percentage off the bench.

Katie Blackmon rounds out the double-figure scoring outputs for the ladies from Holly Springs, notching ten points and seven rebounds.

Next up is the Lady Bleu Devils on Senior Night with a chance at the team's second straight shared GCAC Regular Season Championship.
