LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – The Rust College women's basketball program have clinched a spot in its first ever GCAC Championship Game after edging the Lady Tigers of EWU, 58-53.
Jade Lewis picked the most opportune time to claim her first career double-double as she was the only Rust player to log double-figure points (10) as well as rebounds (10) plus four assists and a steal.
Shay Johnson handed out five dimes to lead all participants on both sides with seven points, two boards and a steal on the side.
Niya McGuire and Jasmine Coleman registered nine points each with McGuire coming off the bench to provide four rebounds, a steal and a block as well.
The Lady Bearcats will face the winner of Philander Smith and Dillard at 2 p.m. inside Mims Gymnasium on Sunday afternoon with the conference's automatic bid to the NAIA Tournament on the line.
