Clock Strikes Midnight On Lady Bearcats’ Cinderella Season

LAKELAND, Fla. – The Rust College women's basketball program saw its historic run end in the Regional Finals as the Lady Bearcats fell in a physical 66-62 battle to the top-seeded host, Southeastern Fire.

Niya McGuire spent 20 minutes on the floor after coming off the pine and put up a game-best 15 points on 7-of-9 (77.8%) to go along with two rebounds, an assist, and a block.

Jade Lewis was the top scorer among the starting five with 13 points and three triples as well as three boards, a pair of steals and a dime.

Zoe Alexander topped the rebounding department on both sides with five boards, contributing five points on the side.

The two longest tenured Lady Bearcats, Shay Johnson and Jasmine Coleman, tied for a game's most assists with four apiece and both tallied eight points to wrap up the final collegiate performances of their storied careers.
