Lady Bearcats Bounce Back With 70-Point Demolition of Morris College

HOLLY SPRINGS, Miss. – The Rust College women's basketball program took out its frustrations from the previous night's defeat on the Lady Hornets of Morris, shellacking them by a score of 105-35 on Saturday evening.

Five Lady Bearcats reached double-figures in the scoring department led by Lyric Turner (14) followed by Katie Blackmon (13), India Green and Niya McGuire (12), then finally Karyn Ford (10).

Green was a perfect 5-for-5 from the floor, Blackmon went for a game-high nine rebounds and two blocks, and Turner sunk a game-most three long balls.

Shuntorri Rodgers led the team in all the non-scoring or rebounding stats such as assists (4), steals (3), and blocks (2) but was also able to drop six points on top of those.

Coach Jackson's ladies get a week of preparation before playing the first of a back-to-back home-and-home with Texas A&M-Texarkana, starting with the road tilt on November 19 at 2 p.m.
