CHANDLER, Ariz. – The Rust College women's basketball program was on the right side of the scoreboard in its second consecutive two-point decision, hanging on as the three-pointer that sunk them the day before was missed, defeating (RV) Rocky Mountain by a 65-63 margin.
Katie Blackmon broke out of her mini slump with a stereotypical performance of a team-best 14 points plus a game-high 13 rebounds on top of a Bearcat-best two blocks and 6-of-8 shooting (75%).
Taniah Bowers was the contest's top stealer with three as well as one of Rust's best assisters with two tying Amelya Hatch and Faith Cattouse.
Cattouse had a productive afternoon with ten points and six boards to pair up with Lyric Turner dropping 13 points on five made field goals.
The Blue and White have 15 days worth of a Christmas Break to enjoy family and friends before action resumes with the GCAC opener at Tougaloo on January 7 at 3 p.m. in Jackson.
