Lady Bearcats Lead Wire-To-Wire In Road Blowout At SUNO

NEW ORLEANS, La. – The Rust College women's basketball program never trailed and pushed around an inferior opponent, leading by as much as 45 points in an 86-41 smackdown of the Lady Knights.

16 different student-athletes saw at least eight minutes of court time with 15 of them scoring as the Blue and White outrebounded SUNO by 19 boards (55-36), claimed a plus-9 turnover margin (21-30), and held the home club to just 22.2% shooting.

Lyric Turner contributed up-and-down the stat sheet as she had a contest-best five steals and four assists on top of eight points plus two boards.

Zoe Alexander was one of only two players on either side to score double-figure points, leading the Cats with ten in 13 minutes.

Ky'Lie Scott was the Lady Bearcats' top rebounder at eight rebounds and co-led all game participants with five steals to tie Turner.

Katie Blackmon knocked away a pair of Lady Knights shots in eight minutes for one every 120 seconds.

Rust will try to make it ten conference victories in-a-row dating back to last season Sunday at noon versus the Fisk Lady Bulldogs at Southern University at New Orleans.
