LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – The Rust College women's basketball program surrendered just 44 points, a 27.8% field-goal percentage, and only two three-pointers while forcing 26 turnovers in a comfortable 58-44 triumph versus the Lady Buffaloes.
Zoe Alexander and Amelya Hatch put together 12 points a pop to lead all scorers on both sides, combining for two of the squad's three triples, seven boards, four steals, plus an assist.
Katie Blackmon just missed out on hitting big at the casino with seven points and a Bearcat-best seven rebounds with a steal on 3-of-3 shooting over just 11 minutes of court time.
Wrapping up the game leaders were Taniah Bowers at four steals and Karyn Ford swatting two blocks.
Rust College will finally get its chance to host the Gulf Coast Athletic Conference basketball pod, looking to keep its spotless league record intact against SUNO at 5 p.m. on Friday.
