Lady Bearcats Shatter Program’s Three-Point Record In Blowout Of Arkansas Baptist

HOLLY SPRINGS, Miss. – The Rust College women's basketball program received their 2023-24 GCAC Championship rings prior to the game then proceeded to show exactly why they have won three of them during this dynastic stretch, dismantling the Arkansas Baptist Buffaloes on the back of a team record 15 three-pointers on its way to a convincing 90-41 masterclass.

• Diamond Sweats has been the go-to scoring threat in the early going, dropping 24 points on 9-for-13 (69.2%), leading all players.

• Second on the points ladder was Dekeriya Patterson, who connected on five triples alone (5-of-7, 71.4%) and 6-of-8 (75%) field goals overall, accounting for one-third of the club's 15 long balls.

• Ahmari Young only took deep shots and was still effective, making four from distance in seven tries for 12 points while Shuntorri Rodgers also crossed the double-digit plateau with an even ten.

• Niya McGuire posted up in the paint and came down with a Bearcat-best eight rebounds.

• Blesseth Dillingham may have only scored four points, but she might have been the most impactful player on the court, dropping six dimes and swiping for steals to show that a student-athlete does not need to score to be vital to a team's success.

• The Buffaloes tried in vain to make a run, but a 0-for-13 night from downtown and a free-throw percentage bordering on 40% gave them no chance.
