Rust Top Performers:
- Musharapha acted as if she was a bouncer and the rim was the nightclub, welcoming all to approach but none to enter, sending away eight separate blocked shots by the home squad while also using her 6-foot-5 frame to bring down seven boards and scoring seven points.
- Diamond Sweats took a rare backseat despite balling out with her first double-double in a Rust uniform, cashing in a contest-best 19 points and 11 rebounds on 7-of-14 (50%) shooting on top of three assists, a steal plus a block.
- Blesseth Dillingham was the best assister among all participants at four in addition to six points while Ahmari Young took three steals similar to a pickpocket to top everyone.
Notes:
- All-time, the two teams have taken turns dominating the series as Tougaloo took 11 of the first 13 meetings (84.6%) before Rust exploded onto the scene once Coach Jackson took the helm, winning the last nine in-a-row to even the score at 11 apiece.
- A big reason for the outcome was holding the Lady Bulldogs to just 23.3% (17-for-73) from the court and 18.8% (3-of-16) on long distance calls.
Next:
- The Blue and White will hope to sweep the home-and-home with the Tigers of Stillman on Tuesday beginning at 5:30 p.m. in western Alabama.
