HOLLY SPRINGS, Miss. – The Rust College women's basketball program has winning streaks of seven, five, and now two (and hopefully counting) with the convincing victory versus the Tornadoes from Talladega College on Friday, rising above for a 68-46 decision.

Rust Top Performers:

 

  • Niya McGuire led the Lady Bearcats in both scoring and rebounding, dropping 14 points while grabbing a contest-high eight boards (six on the offensive glass) plus a steal and an assist.

 

  • Amelya Hatch was the wingwoman of the evening, dishing out a game-best five dimes on top of nine points.

 

  • Musharapha Alhassan was right behind McGuire with 13 points, she nabbed six boards, logged a match-most four steals and one of two blocks in addition to a field goal percentage north of 80% (83.3%, 5-of-6).

 

  • Diamond Sweats did a little bit of everything, pouring in 11 points, seven rebounds, a trio of dimes, and a trio of steals during her 25 minutes of court time.
